The number of ACL injuries in children is rising, and the long-term outcomes after ACL injury in childhood, including development of osteoarthritis, are unknown. We are challenged as clinicians because we have limited evidence upon which to base our guidance and recommendations to children and their parents/guardians regarding prognosis after ACL injury. This free consensus statement addresses 6 fundamental clinical questions related to the prevention, diagnosis and management of ACL injuries in children.
