Eduard Alentorn-Geli disclosure

Dr Eduard Alentorn-Geli is a surgeon and researcher with extensive experience in knee, shoulder, and elbow orthopaedic sports medicine open and arthroscopic procedures and adult reconstruction surgery of the shoulder and elbow from Barcelona, Spain.

Dr Alentorn-Geli has been involved in sports for many years, first as a soccer player and then doing his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at the National Institute of Physical Education of Catalonia (INEFC) in Barcelona, where he graduated with SUMMA CUM LAUDE (Extraordinary Award given to the best academic record of the class).

Immediately after, Dr Alentorn-Geli underwent Medical School at the University of Barcelona, where he did the combined MD-PhD programme. During Medical School, he also completed two Master of Science’s Degree, one in Clinical Biomechanics of the Locomotor Apparatus by the Rovira i Virgili University, and another one in High Performance Training in Team Sports by the INEFC-Barcelona (University of Barcelona).

Dr Alentorn-Geli has made substantial contributions to research, with over 130 publications, including 94 international research articles indexed in Pubmed and 14 book chapters.

Dr Alentorn-Geli is a member of several societies, including ESSKA, Spanish Association of Arthroscopy (AEA), Spanish Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SECHC), and Spanish Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SECOT). He is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Spanish Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery (SECHC), and current President of the Research Agency of this society.

He is currently working in the group of the world-renowned Dr Ramón Cugat, considered an international expert in orthopaedic sports medicine and arthroscopic knee surgery. He develops his professional activity as an orthopedic surgeon specialized in the diagnosis and treatment of simple and complex disorders of the Shoulder, Elbow and Knee at Arthroscopy GC (located at the Hospital Quirónsalud, Barcelona) and at the Catalan Soccer Federation through the Mutualidad Catalana de Futbolistas (Barcelona, Spain).
